It is so hard when little ones are sick esp something so serious and as moms we want to fix it so badly. I am glad things seem to be improving and hope they continue to do so. My son spent time in picu as an infant, and it is rough. I wished despirately to be able to take all his pain away. His greatest complications were the IVs as well on one occasion in infiltrated and his arm swelled like a sausage I felt awful. Then another time they poked him so many times he was screaming so bad. I had to leave the room in tears. I wanted to strangle the nurses but I knew they were doing their best. It is definately a dificult path. And Leah&#39;s surgeon said only a 4% chance she&#39;d need a 2nd surgery...but her head is looking flat and not too good these days. I am fearful that Leah will need another surgery, though hubby doesn&#39;t see it!! SO frustrating that our babies have gone through so much and may have to have another surgery to deal with. The surgeon had termed it &quot;fill in the holes&quot; and that it wasn&#39;t a big deal surgery like her first one but that really doesn&#39;t make me feel any better.<br /><br />I think it&#39;s great you&#39;ve followed up on everything. We were supposed to go back and have her head &quot;looked at&quot; 6 months after she got her helmet off. Most online cranio babies didn&#39;t have to go back till a year later so we waited. Well the year was up last August and we still haven&#39;t gone back to have her head &quot;looked&quot; at. He didn&#39;t mention a cat scan for leah...just to &quot;look&quot; at her head. In the meantime they haven&#39;t called us at all...so it must not be a big deal. All the same I know I need to take her in...I&#39;m just nervous to hear what they have to say. Feel free to message me any response you may have through FB. <br /><br />I really just wish we could be normal with our babies. This cranio journey has not been fun. And Leah has hit her head more than my other 2 combined times about 30.
